The Gifted Fox

Fans of Fox’s The Gifted are for in for some sad news today: The network decided not to renew the drama for a third season.

But, there’s a potential silver lining — a shall we say, marvelous solution. The series is set in Marvel’s X-Men universe, which now falls under the Disney umbrella thanks to the company’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. So, while there’s no confirmation — OK, there’s barely a murmur, but YOU CAN HOPE — it’s entirely possible that The Gifted might find itself a new home somewhere at Disney.

The show, written by Matt Nix, focused on a suburban family’s rather ordinary lives. Or so they thought: The parents (Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker) suddenly have to contend with the fact that their kids possess mutant powers. Drama ensues, and the family goes on the run and has to literally fight to survive.

While we’re not sure whether or not The Gifted will appear somewhere in the vast Disneyverse, we are sure that there are a plethora of new and old titles coming to the new Disney+ streaming platform later this year. Who’s ready?!
